Picture Book: The Secret of Babylon

As I revamp my portfolio, I am keeping several things in mind, many of which were advises given by my mentors, fellow mentees, agents, keynote speakers, etc.  I cannot begin to express my gratitude to SCBWI, which helps me tremendously on becoming a better storyteller and artist as I embark upon the journey of children's book writer/illustrator.

Listed below are some of the many things I am exploring with:
  - Action and reaction with characters
  - Age diversity of characters
  - Giving personality to the characters
  - Composition and layout
  - Where are they?
  - When does the story take place?

As always, my fascination with history creeps into my illustration.  This particular piece takes place in ancient Babylon.  What is the sly-eye woman whispering about to the innocent child in front of the Ishtar Gate?  Will he take her words?  Is she trustworthy?

Time for a story!
