Process Post: Yellow School Airbus, 01


In my little fantasy world of flight, kids go to school via a yellow school airbus in the early 1900s.  As you might or might not see on this initial concept, the kids are flying on the rooftop of the airbus.

I've since changed this (which will be reflected on my next post), as I am guessing being seated on top of the wing will be windy and uncomfortable.

Thumbnail color study.

It's hard to tell on this photo.  I lightly sketched the architecture and and plane,
and I stretched the watercolor paper after.

Trying to keep things loose.  

As an experiment, I used charcoal to define the details.
