"Miss Maple's Seeds" is written and illustrated by talented good friend & fellow mentee Eliza Wheeler (winner of 2011 SCBWI Portfolio Showcase). Here are some photos at the event.

Now that Eliza had done a book featuring my name (which she wrote before we met, but still!), I feel like returning the favor.
You see, my neighbor raises chicken in her yard and does not have a gate-policy, so I constantly find chicken walking about in my front yard. (And sometimes mysteriously in my backyard –– a case I still have to investigate –– how did they hop the fence?)
So, somewhere in the future, I should write a book called... "Miss Eliza's Wandering Chicken".

Hooray for Eliza!! What a great post, Maple! I wish I could have been there :)
What a fantastic post, Maple! I love the photos; thank you for documenting so thoroughly. I love the shot of the counter at Skylight with my books lining the shelves. I didn't even see that while I was there!! So fun to have my wonderful kidlit friends there to support me. And that illustration - too awesome!!! You're the greatest!
