Tribute to Masters Series -- Maurice Sendak

Legendary children's literature author and illustrator Maurice Sendak was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1928.  He started illustrating children's books in his 20s.  Where the Wild Things Are, first published in 1963, received high critical acclaim and was awarded the Caldecott Medal.  The book continues to be a favorite among children today.

The New York Times published the following article today, commemorating the legendary Maurice Sendak, who passed away at 83 today.

An NPR Fresh Air interview with Terry Gross in 2011 is a great inspiration, and it truly moves my heart every time I listen to it.
